The
Hire

Companys
latest
innovative
additions
to
its
heating
and
lighting
products
range
are
designed
to
be
environmentally
friendly
as
well
as
efficient.
The
Hire
Supply
Company
(HSC)
reports
that
an
increasing
number
of
customers
are
showing
interest
in
environmentally
friendly
equipment
for
their
hire
fleets,
and
this
demand
is
driving
much
of
its
product
development.
It
has
just
announced
a
new
compact
metal
halide
portable
lighting
tower,
to
be
officially
launched
shortly,
which
is
designed
to
reduce
carbon
emissions
in
two
ways,
through
the
total
energy
used
and
the
mass
of
raw
materials.
The
metal
halide
lamps
require
less
energy
than
traditional
tungsten
halogen
lights,
but
have
a
higher
light
output
for
the
amount
of
energy
used.
The
product
has
a
maximum
power
rating
of
400watts
and
a
light
output
of
3600
lumens
with
a
single
head,
or
7200
lumens
with
a
double
head.
The
product
has
an
18-litre
fuel
tank
and
fuel
consumption
is
stated
as
0.90
litres/per
hour,
enabling
it
to
run
uninterrupted
throughout
the
night.
The
machine
weighs
190kg
and
HSC
says
it
can
fit
easily
into
small
vans
for
transportation
without
the
need
for
a
towing
facility.
It
can
be
set
up
by
one
person
and
its
Honda
generator
can
be
removed
and
replaced
quickly
for
servicing.
With
todays
concerns
over
carbon
emissions
and
their
effect
on
the
environment,
it
is
important
that
firms
such
as
us
take
responsibility
to
develop
more
environmentally
friendly
equipment,
contends
Managing
Director,
Gary
McWilliam.
HSC
has
also
added
new
38watt
Task
Lights,
available
in
110V
and
240V,
and
which
can
be
used
in
any
position
to
deliver
a
wide,
even
spread
of
light.
The
company
says
the
lamp
never
gets
hot,
making
it
safe
for
indoor
use.
Last
year,
HSC
also
added
environmentally
friendly
Low
Energy
Festoon
Lights
to
its
range.
The
13watt
compact
fluorescent
light
(CLF)
offers
equivalent
light
output
to
that
of
a
standard
60watt
bulb,
significantly
reducing
emissions.
Also
launched
last
year,
the
E-Lite
professional
site
lighting
range
includes
single
and
double-headed
retractable
and
swing
leg
models,
together
with
floor
standing
and
magnetic
units.
One
E-Lite
is
said
to
offer
a
light
output
equivalent
to
a
traditional
125watt
lamp,
but
uses
only
27watts.
Instead
of
having
back
wiring
boxes,
which
can
be
damaged,
the
head
is
wired
directly.
The
E-Lites
were
an
instant
hit
with
hirers
and
their
customers
and
remained
in
maximum
production
throughout
the
winter
months,
states
Operations
Director,
Kevin
Lever.
As
a
result,
we
have
ordered
additional
units
to
keep
pace
with
predicted
demand
this
season.
HSCs
heating
range
includes
the
Elite
Heat
and
Elite
Heat
Swivel
quartz
halogen
units,
which
feature
a
spring-loaded
element
holder.
This
prevents
damage
to
the
elements
caused
by
on-site
movement
and
handling.
Each
heater
is
fitted
with
two
1500watt
Toshiba
quartz
elements
and
is
available
in
110V,
fitted
with
a
32A
plug,
or
230V
fitted
with
a
13A
plug.
The
latter
features
an
integral
tilt
switch,
which
instantly
cuts
the
electricity
supply
should
the
heater
be
knocked
over.
The
Elite
Heat
Ceramic
features
infrared
ceramic
emitters
and
is
available
in
230V
13A
or
115V
32A
versions,
while
HSCs
Elite
Fan
Heater
is
designed
to
deliver
a
constant
stream
of
warm
air
via
two
1500w
elements.
The
handles
double
as
a
safety
guard
to
prevent
the
airflow
from
being
restricted.
The
product
features
a
neon
powered
indicator
light,
a
rear
cable
holder
and
is
available
in
240V
13A
and
110V
32A
options.
Propane,
convector
and
oil
filled
radiator-style
heaters
are
also
offered
in
the
HSC
range,
meaning
that
hirers
and
their
customers
have
no
excuse
for
not
having
the
right
products
for
darker,
colder
conditions.
