Ammann
to
launch
latest
minis
Amongst
the
highlights
on
the
Ammann
Equipment
stand
will
be
the
new
Semi-Vio
SV15
and
SV17
mini
excavators
in
the
1500kg
class.
These
will
replace
the
B15-3,
B15-3
Ex
and
B18
Ex
Series
B
machines.
The
newcomers
have
a
reduced
rear
swing
radius
of
only
980mm,
enabling
use
in
confined
spaces,
and
they
can
pass
through
1m
doorways.
They
are
designed
to
be
more
fuel-efficient
than
their
predecessors
with
reduced
levels
of
noise
and
emissions,
lending
themselves
to
use
in
populated
locations.
A
new
load-sensing
hydraulic
system
allows
the
simultaneous
operation
of
all
machine
functions,
and
the
optional
cabs
are
designed
for
maximum
space.
The
SV15
weighs
1480kg
(1580kg
with
cab)
and
has
a
maximum
digging
depth
of
2000mm.
It
is
seen
as
particularly
suitable
for
general
hire
fleets.
The
SV17
is
120kg
heavier
and
its
longer
dipper
arm
gives
a
2400mm
maximum
digging
depth.
It
has
a
second
transport
speed
and
a
variable
hydraulic
pump.
The
SV17
Ex
is
similar
but
its
undercarriage
is
variable
between
750-1090mm.
Ammann
will
also
unveil
the
Vio15-2A
zero
tail
swing
mini,
which
has
a
1680kg
operating
weight
and
the
undercarriage
can
be
altered
between
950-1200mm.
New
lighting
towers
will
also
be
displayed.
Kubotas
long
reach
Kubota
will
exhibit
and
demonstrate
models
from
its
popular
mini
excavator
range,
as
well
as
previewing
the
new
zero
tail
swing
8-tonne
KX080-3.
Overall,
the
line-up
covers
17
base
models
from
850kg
to
8
tonne.
Other
machines
being
shown
for
the
first
time
at
SED
will
be
the
5-tonne
U50-3,
a
zero
tail
swing
model
fitted
with
a
long
reach
arm,
and
which
has
a
heavier
counterweight
for
stability
and
improved
torque
for
increased
traction.
The
company
will
also
promote
its
new
key-based
security
system.
Comprehensive
GenSet
line-up
GenSet
will
show
a
comprehensive
line-up
of
its
generators,
from
a
standard
6.0kVA
machine
to
the
ultra
silenced
100kVA
USP
sets
designed
for
noise
sensitive
areas.
Also
on
display
will
be
PowerCube
and
PowerCell
generators
built
for
installation
in
mobile
and
static
buildings,
along
with
engine-driven
site
water
pumps
and
electric
submersibles.
The
company
recently
won
a
£500,000
order
from
a
major
railway
contractor
for
its
portable
welding
machines,
and
a
selection
from
the
range
will
be
displayed,
together
with
lighting
products
such
as
the
versatile
MiniTower,
the
LinkTower
and
the
VT-1
SuperLight.
Sister
company,
GenQuip,
will
feature
its
Groundhog
towable
welfare
units,
including
the
new
Piglet.
It
has
the
same
features
as
the
six-person
Groundhog
360,
minus
the
hydraulic
installation
equipment.
Feedback
suggested
that
some
contractors
carried
out
work
entailing
multiple
stops
during
a
single
day.
Although
they
still
needed
the
Groundhogs
welfare
facilities,
the
hydraulic
lowering
system
was
an
unwanted
dimension
when
the
task
was
completed
and
it
was
time
to
move
to
the
next
job.
Instead,
the
Piglet
has
a
simple
four-set
outrigger
system.
The
module
is
moved
into
position
and
secured
by
dropping
an
outrigger
at
each
corner
to
the
ground.
Power
for
the
welfare
unit
comes
from
a
GenSet
PowACcom
generator,
running
on
petrol,
diesel
or
LPG.
Kanga
for
high
productivity
Kanga
Loaders
will
promote
its
range
of
stand-on
skid
steer
loaders
that
are
designed
for
ease
of
use
and
high
work
rates.
The
company
claims
that
the
versatility
of
the
machines
enables
hirers
to
achieve
fast
returns
on
investment,
and
that
users
appreciate
the
increased
productivity
of
the
units
compared
to
using
manual
labour.
The
Kanga
machines
can
be
fitted
with
more
than
50
quick-fit
attachments
that
enable
the
user
to
dig,
carry,
till,
trench,
bore
holes,
plant
trees,
sweep,
break
and
carry
out
other
tasks.
Live
demonstrations
will
be
held
throughout
the
Show,
aimed
at
illustrating
the
performance
of
the
range.

recent
and
stringent
noise
level
legislation.
It
will
be
shown
at
SED
together
with
other
engines
in
the
15LD
series,
along
with
other
water-cooled
models.
The
company
has
five
production
plants
throughout
the
world
and
has
a
total
annual
output
of
more
than
200,000
engines.
Models
available
include
petrol
and
diesel
single
