PUBLISHING SCHEDULE
EHN is at the heart of our hire industry, highly valued for the quality, independence and integrity of the information we provide. For 2011 we are maintaining our publishing schedule of producing two issues in each three month period throughout the year, still mindful of the challenging trading conditions for many of our advertisers.
Our 2011 series of editorial Market Reports particularly highlight new tools, plant and equipment that address a wide spectrum of issues that hirers are concerned about. These include safety, efficiency, quality and environmental impact.

EDITORIAL MARKET REPORTS
April/May Issue - Low Level Access
(to be mailed Tuesday 26 April)
As hirers continue to enjoy high demand for equipment that enables work at height to be undertaken safely, so manufacturers continue to develop new products that provide effective and easy-to-use solutions.
We will review the latest push-around platforms, steps, podium steps and ladders, as well as assessing the latest self-propelled compact scissor lifts, undoubtedly a growing product area.
June Issue - Power Tools & Accessories

Users are constantly seeking greater performance and productivity, and this Market Report will assess the most recently introduced hand-held equipment enabling them to efficiently undertake tasks such as drilling, cutting, breaking, grinding and sanding.
New additions to various cordless platforms will be included, together with consumables like diamond blades and core drills. In addition, we will cover the latest accessories and systems designed to address important Health & Safety issues such as dust and HAV.

July/August Issue - Landscaping, Gardens & Grounds Care
(to be mailed Monday 25 July)
The diversity of this market enables hirers to target many different customers. Homeowners need equipment - such as scarifiers, rotavators and hedge trimmers - to maintain lawns and gardens, while landscape contractors increasingly find hire a cost-effective way of obtaining machinery for tasks like mowing, trenching and tree care. The latest product launches will be covered, together with mini excavators, compact dumpers and other compact plant, plus attachments, for work involved in building house extensions and more extensive landscaping projects. We will also consider equipment that encourages recycling, such as chippers, shredders and crushers.
›› This issue is also planned to include reviews of the International Rental Exhibition and Vertikal Days, plus a preview of IOG Saltex
September Issue - Power Generation and Welfare Units
(to be mailed Tuesday 6 September)
Increasingly, customers are selecting power generation equipment not only according to its output level, but also for its efficiency, particularly in terms of fuel economy, lower emissions and noise. We will consider machines and technological innovations that help hirers, and their customers, meet their green obligations, along with inverter generators and similar products offering ‘clean’ power suitable for sensitive electronic equipment. The latest products for safely transporting and storing fuel will also be included.
A separate mini-Market Report will assess the latest welfare units that enable site managers to comply with Health & Safety regulations on building sites and outdoor events in terms of sanitary facilities and eating areas for personnel, as well as units for use at remote locations and other challenging environments.

October Issue - Heating & Lighting
(to be mailed Monday 10 October)
Offering equipment to provide illumination on darker days, and heat in colder conditions, is a traditionally strong hire market. Today, it attracts even greater interest from customers wanting products that are more energy efficient and consume fewer resources, giving more economical operation.
This Report will update the latest technological developments and products, and will also assess relevant ancillary items such as cables, extension reels and transformers.
›› Our October issue will also include a review of the new plant and equipment with hire potential launched at IOG Saltex

November/December Issue - Compact Plant
(to be mailed Monday 14 November)
The fact that more hirers are expanding their existing compact plant fleets, or introducing this kind of machinery for the first time, shows the resilience and importance of this market. Users appreciate the advantages these machines offer, in terms of their reduced footprint, powerful performance and increased productivity.
Our review will encompass micro excavators, standard and zero/reduced tail swing minis, compact dumpers and carriers, skid steer and small wheel loaders, and other relevant machines such as compact telescopic handlers. Also included will be the latest attachments designed to expand the operating capabilities and earning potential of these units still further, along with wear parts, tracks and other essential consumables.
