Volvo Construction Equipment has introduced a number of improvements for the new generation L30 and L35 compact wheel loaders.

Already proven for operation across urban construction, municipalities, landscaping, agriculture, waste and recycling, the 5.7-6.4 tonne machines are  coming to market with improved navigation and ease-of-use functions.

The new  loaders are gaining an even greater range of visibility to the front and sides, all thanks to a slimmer dashboard. Operators also benefit from a 5” display, which is navigated via jog wheel, as well as an ergonomic multi-function joystick – such as already found on the L20 Electric and L25 electric models.

Unique to this size class comes a set of new options designed to ease machine operation. This includes an advanced boom kick-out and bucket leveller with boundary limits, consisting of an automatic lift and tilt where the boom and attachment move automatically into pre-programmed positions with the press of a button on the joystick. Meanwhile, a lift and tilt limiter prevents the boom and attachment from going above and beyond a pre-set elevation/depth and to avoid hitting obstacles - this helps experienced operators ensure precise repetitive movements with less fatigue, while less experienced operators can carry out speedier loading cycles.

Heavier loads also become light work thanks to the optimised kinematics. With increased bucket bulk density, the H-generation L30 and L35 with Z-linkage can carry up to 200 kg more per m3 compared to the L30G and L35G.

A unique electro-hydraulic main control valve enhances the flow sharing among the hydraulic functions. The boom and hydraulic attachment can be operated simultaneously with no compromise to the movement of operation. Meanwhile, series stalwarts will appreciate the simultaneous steering and lifting at speed functionality, which is thanks to independent hydraulic pumps.

On top of the other updates, the loaders continue to offer the same outstanding performance, speed and versatility, with the rim pull and breakout/lifting forces that operators might expect from larger machinery. The new machines also benefit from improved ground clearance, which is ensured via the portal axles design. While the attachment bracket enables speedy shifts between a range of regular and hydraulic attachments.

By adding machine connectivity to the updated wheel loaders, customers can also access a range of services and digital solutions to help them reduce downtime and boost profitability. In all, the L30 and L35 set a new standard for compact wheel loaders in this size class, delivering optimal  performance with a low total cost of ownership.
